Croí Lán

Dear Reader - a big week ahead!
Theme Night Season kicks off this Saturday and Sunday - hoping to see lots of you there…

The Big Thing

But first - some music!
Memories of our Coney Island trip last April with the recent release of this video.

Liam Óg from Leatsa was our first visitor to the island, and the one and only visitor to travel on the Sam Purcell Express (see vid)!

He got a bit (!) wet but soon dried off and we had a lovely session recording a beautiful song of his called Croí Lán.

Where else but Sligo?

Paddy Keyes spent last Thursday, Friday and Saturday playing support to Westlife in the 3 Arena.
He then spent Monday fixing piano stools in preparation for the upcoming term!

Paddy is starting into his fourth year teaching with us and he is a real favourite among students. He has also taken on extra responsibility this year facilitating workshops and managing students and timetables throughout the term.

I first met Paddy through our Theme Night Academy and since graduating from that in 2019 he went on to study and pursue a career in music. He has released a number of great songs over the last few years and so it was fantastic to see his name in lights last week.

Now that the stools are fixed (!) he gets to go back to Dublin and play has two more shows on the big stage tonight and tomorrow night.

And…if any of our students wish to learn one of Paddy’s songs - check out Serotonin on Level 4!

What’s New?

Speaking of Croí Lán, it was just lovely to see our Strandhill Centre back in full flow yesterday.

After Paddy fixed the stools (!) he was straight into workshops and lessons.
Bridget and Katelyn were also back teaching and it was just fantastic to see a buzz around the place again.

I love the start of term energy!
Looking forward to all we have in store now as we move through the weeks.

Finally…

I bought tickets for this lady’s gig recently…

Till next time - Kieran.
