The Big Thing
Announcing a brand new workshop series for teenagers every Wednesday evening for the rest of the summer. In association with Sligo BID, Creative Ireland, Sligo County Council, the Hawk’s Well Theatre and Foróige.
Open to anyone aged 12-18 with an interest in these areas.
Tutors include Steve Wickham, Callum Wall, Orla McSharry, Terry Markey, Rory Maitland, Luke Devaney, Thomas Spratt, Sarah Middleton, Jonathan Carter and Avril O’Hanlon.
Admission is FREE but you must be in possession of a ticket. Get them here.
Where else but Sligo?
We’re half way through our term of summer lessons. And while the rest of you have been on the beach (!) lots of new students have been enjoying a gentle introduction to our learning by ear method with teachers Shauna, Joy and Odhrán.
It’s a great chance for us to try out new songs with the students.
Songs like Pink Pony Club, Killeagh, and an original hit from one of our teachers - Serotonin by Paddy Keyes.
Plus classic songs newly written out for our students - such as Golden Slumbers, Landslide and Viva La Vida.
These songs plus lots more will feature in the new edition of our Learning Piano By Ear book which is currently being edited.
What’s New?
We made the most of the weather last Sunday. A gorgeous few hours al fresco running this Sunday’s Theme Night set for the Boyle Arts Festival with the gang. And ten minutes after we finished the heavens opened - must be a sign!!
